Topic:
Execution warranty
Occasionally, it may be impossible to
perform a backup at the scheduled time. In such cases,
BackUp Maker provides an option for "catching
up" - the so-called Execution warranty. For more
details, please read below.
Option: Always catch up
Enable this option if you want BackUp
Maker to automatically perform any backups that were
missed out when it is next started up. No
intervention or confirmation is expected from you -
these backups are initiated automatically.
Option: Never catch up
If you do not wish to catch up with
any "missed" backups, enable this option.
This means that backups will be performed at the next
possible scheduled time, as usual.
Option: Ask user
Enable the Ask user checkbox if you
want BackUp Maker to tell you about any missed out
backups at startup, so that you can decide on the
action to take. You can then choose whether or not to
perform the missed out backup at this stage.
Note: When you choose to perform automatic backups at
certain time intervals, the Execution warranty has no
effect.
The Execution warranty was
specifically built into BackUp Maker in order to
catch up with backups that were scheduled for a
specific time but were missed out because the
computer was switched off, for example. This is why
the feature has no effect for backups that are
scheduled to take place at certain intervals.
